Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated on 1st November of every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. We at GCIS, had a special assembly by our kindergarteners to mark the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava, where in two of our little munchkins was dressed as Dr. Sudhamurthy and Dr. Rajkumar, and spoke about them. This was continued by our munchkins singing the state anthem “Jai Bharatha Jananiya Thanu Jaathe”. The cutie pies of our kindergarten also entertained the audience by exhibiting their folk dance skills on the “Chennepa chenne gowda”. The Facilitators also explained to the kids about the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava.
